The Clean Hands Campaign, sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology, is designed to remind Americans that Mom was right—wash your hands!

A recent survey, however, shows that lots of people have forgotten Mom's advice and say they wash their hands more than they actually do. While 95 percent of people say they wash their hands after using a public restroom, only 67 percent of people actually do.
